Personal:

I have been married for 24 years to my wonderful wife Beverly. We have two beautiful daughters Riley-13 and Ally-10.In my 20's I ran a lot to get into shape to fight in the tough man contests. Now that I am in my 40's the love of running is back but the boxing is long gone.

Today after church I ran some intervals. I jogged a mile to get warmed up and then started off with 1/2 mile intervals.

1/2 - mile in 3:04 @ 6:08 pace.

1/2 - mile in 3:03 @ 6:06 pace

1/4 - mile in 1:25 @ 5:40 pace

1/4 - mile in 1:26 @ 5:44 pace

1/8 - mile in :45 @ 6:00 pace

1/8 - mile in :45@ 6:00 pace

Pretty tough for me. I normally would run 3 sets but did not feel like I could hold out.

If you guys have not noticed....I'm not a talented runner. But I really enjoy it and work hard to reach my goals. Running helps me clear my head of all the problems that we all face. If running makes me healthier and helps me live a better life....what more could anyone ask for??

Hey, man, enjoying it is what it's all about. Speed is secondary; a fast guy who hates running won't be doing it for long, but a slow guy that loves it might just be fortunate enough to do it for the rest of his life. Given the choice, I'd rather be the latter.

more workouts like that and some good longer runs and your goals will be met shortly, the garmin will be a great training tool.
