Today I ran the Jesse Owens 10k in Moulton Al. My goal for this race was 50 minutes. I woke up this morning with a stomach problem and had to visit the john on two occasions before leaving the house.I didnt eat anything for the fear of having to make a pit stop during the race. After the race started I felt good for the first 3 miles and was on pace.Between miles 3 and 4 I started having trouble again.I had to slow down and try to work through it.I stopped at the water station and thought that a drink of water would help. After I started back running my legs felt weak. My breathing was good the whole race but my legs were like noodles.I think that it was a combination of no food and a nervous stomach.I started feeling a little better around the last mile and tried to finish strong.I still almost ran a high 50 but was a little disappointed when I didnt meet my goal. Oh well, the good thing about races is that there will be more.

51:10 on my garmin. Not sure of the official time yet.

Last year I ran a 54:49 at this race.

Good job on the race! Looks like a PR even though you just missed 50:xx. You'll easily get this next time when you don't have to deal with stomach issues.

Oh man! I know you would've gotten under 50 if it wasn't for the stomach problems. Like you said, there will be more races.

nice job on the PR, all your time will drop big time now that you are running regularly
